The postman knocked twice yesterday, and brought me the BoostLab Shift Rda. Came in a small plastic box, with all sorts of spares, and a little Phillips head blue screwdriver, which won't actually work on this as the screws are slotted ones.... still nice thought eh! Easy to change it to a squonk mod, simply by removing the small screw in the bottom of the 510 connection. The deck on it is great. Very easy to stick a build on there, and enough room for even twin vertical coils if that's the way you want to do it. On this one I have a single 0.8 ohm coil, Kanthal A1, with a very simple scrap of cotton trimmed just long enough to reach the fairly deep well deck. Indeed for such a small atty the deck holds a fair amount of juice so you aren't squonking all the time with it. The vape from this is excellent.. Loads and loads of flavour, about as good as my favourite small squonking rda the Origen Little 16, not too hot a vape either, but warm and saturated. The squonk action on these is very good, a quick light squeeze and hold for a few seconds and the excess is fully drained back into the bottle. The Air flow is controlled by a tiny! (Don't drop it!) screw that you wind down into the air hole to cut off some of the flow, and it works very well. Fully screwed down it makes for a nice not too tight MTL draw, and with it all the way out a tight-ish direct lung hit is fine. As you can see from the images it really is small sat on my Inbox, and looks even smaller on the RockModz mech squonker. Height excluding the drip tip is only 15.5mm and its a 22 mm atty. The deck picture shows the small amount of cotton I used here...a small amount as i am using it as a squonker, so no need to pack the deck with cotton. If I was using this as a standard Dripper, i would fill the deck loosely but because its so easy to keep wet a simple setup works great. All in all, very happy with this small rda. It looks good, vapes very well, and is simple to build and maintain...whats not to like. Cheers...

Thanks for a nice little review taff on what sounds a great little rda, the only thing that has put me off getting one of these is the price on one of these.

Thought I would update this tonight...
WHile the vape from this was very good indeed, I thought it might have been better, looking at the tiny chamber the atty has.. So I decided to change out the coil this afternoon and re-wick it. Anyway, I like playing about with my attys!
Built a simple 4 wrap 26 gauge kanthal coil, for 0.6 ohms, and put a little more cotton through the coil than I did the last time I did this. Came out at 0.61 so was happy about that. Filled the tank with some 70/30 18mg cantaloupe juice and tried it out.
Stuck it on the mech at first, and while it was ok, it wasn't a big difference to what it was before, so decided to try it at at a little more power on the inbox.
On the inbox, I gradually wound up the power to around 4.3 volts, 29.8 watts and that really seems to bring it to life. Warm vape and superb flavour...the extra power available from the inbox suits this small atty. It really likes the extra power, similar to the way the Narda does.
Will leave it like that for now and just enjoy it I reckon... For a few days anyway!

So what you are saying really is that the Narda is still the best for you? If that is the case I might have to look into getting one one them.

No mate, that's not what I meant. The Narda for me needs lots of power to give its best, and I think the boost lab is at least as good, and maybe better than the Narda.. The Narda I have does not vape as well on a mech mod. It needs power to give its best.. 4.3 volts at least.. That's my take on it anyway, boost lab for me...at least so far!
the absolute best all round rda for my way of squonking is the Origen Little 16.. A superb atty..
will maybe do do a write up on them soon..

taff great review, maybe this should be in the review section? I hope you'll do more of these. A good written review with a couple of photos is sometimes better than video

i wont ,, oh buggerit i will say it, one could always try the sxk clone version for pennies (compared to a gen of the narda/shift ) get both then go on the mega hunt for a gen of the one that you like better....but that usually for me ends up getting Expensive as "both" is the result ...

taff how does the boost compare to The hadaly where leaking is concerned? I got rid of the hadaly for this reason.

If you just take a little care squonking you won't get any leaking. I haven't had any at all..to be truthful, don't get much on the Hadaly either, unless I get carried away and squeeze to hard..

I know this isnt the right place but i gotta ask.. Did you try to stick a 0.13mm SS wire in the NaRda? Right now i have dual coils 2mm spaced sitting at 0.8ohm running at some 18w, and its working magic for me

Not me mate, I stick with single coils only as it gets too hot a vape for me with dual coils. 26 guage kanthal at between 0.6 and 0.8 does me fine.
