I'm thinking of trying to hunt one down or even a clone of one....The reason I'm interested is that it was supposedly designed to take SS mesh wicks as well, as cotton...at the time they came out I had my eye on gennys and gave the Tiafun and the Fogger a pass...so I'm looking to talk to folks who have used the Tiafun V1 and V2 who have tried using mesh in them, and what their thoughts were on their performance....and this lot is full of old school duffers who might have a clue as to wtf I'm talking about.

Ive used mesh in a clone taifun, many moons ago. Works a treat once its set up. I've seen some pretty strange mesh builds for it...people packing ecowool around the wick I suppose to keep it from shorting, but it seems to me if you oxidized your wick properly it wouldn't short...after all a snug fit in a genny wickhole isn't a problem...can you just use straight mesh and dispense with the eco wool thing.

P busardo did a review on the Taifun using mesh wick and he said it was very good if I remember correctly.

Yep thats how I did mine, just oxidized mesh. Surprisingly didnt leak at all.

I have both the Taifun GT and GS pulsevape and can honestly say they are both outstanding atties. I used oxidised mesh with both and never had any problems with shorts and no trace of leaking or seepage from either. The GS is a little more fiddly to set up though because of it smaller size.

I suppose a hurricane would work quite well with mesh as it has the same chamber arrangement.
