Picked up one of these Hadaly Rda's the other day, and though i would post my findings on it so far.
Firstly, Its a SXK Clone, not an authentic, supposedly a 1 to 1 version, but its not..there are a few issues with it, read on and you will see what I found.
Paid the huge amount of approx £11.00 for it from SlowTech, and it was delivered in about 10 days.
Comes in a nice little plastic tube, with all sorts of o' rings, deck screws etc. in there, decent presentation and looks great. Mine arrived clean with no noticeable machine oil residue, but i still took it apart and gave it 5 minutes in the sonic cleaner to be sure there was no Chinese dragons or anything else hiding away in there. Its a tiny atty, about 19.5 mm up to the bottom of the drip tip, and 22 mm wide.
When it arrives the Top cap is very tight. a job to get it off and it needs a good lubrication to get it back on. It does loosen off in a few days though, and now it clips on nicely. There are two o'rings keeping it snug and if you have one and its the same, simply remove one of these with no issues like leaking etc. but i didn't do that with mine, just took it on and off lots of times until it loosens up enough to make it easy.
The build deck is nicely sized. Plenty big enough to fit some decent coils in there, 3.5mm coils fit just fine, although to give myself a little more wriggle room i used 3mm coils, and there is a decent juice well also.
This uses a clamp system to keep the coil legs in place, and while it works OK, there is an issue with it. Larger coil legs, i.e. fused staggered claptons as I happened to have here, would not fit. They would do if the clamps were machined properly, but there is a slope machined into the under part of the clamps allowing you to just slip the coil legs under the clamps, but they are machined with too long a slope, and the coil legs slip out again as you tighten them up.
Its a pain...If you have one of these and are having the same problem, there is a simple fix, take off the clamp and turn it over. This puts the flat side down and it grips a whole lot better, although its not as easy to insert the coil legs, its still not too difficult. Building on these is simple, lots of room to work, and it seems like its machined very well apart from the slope issue. I ended up giving up on these coils and going back to a simple 0.7 ohms 26 gauge Kanthal A1 coil. That fitted in with no problems at all, the clamps holding the legs perfectly.
The airflow is excellent, twin holes each side that you can adjust from full on air and a decent amount of it, right down to a decent MTL draw. I use mine with one of the pair of air-holes closed off and the others half open and its a good mtl draw for me. It can be a cloud chaser if that's what you want, but also a decent atty for the MTL vapers amongst us. When you insert your coil, be sure to press it down into the well. If you look at where the air hits as it comes in, and you leave the coil where it naturally sits when you insert it, the air actually enters and goes underneath the coil, and not on it. This makes for a hot vape! and not a very good one either. Pressing the coil down into the well so its centred between the air holes transforms the vape from it.
Comes with a squonk pin and for squonking this is a very good choice. Tons of flavour from this little Rda, and it actually squonks very well. The juice well is fairly deep, not the deepest i have, but reasonable. Its won't be your friend if you tend to over-squonk though. The air-holes are set fairly low, and over-squonking sees juice coming out of them.. i got it everywhere at first, before i found the balance for it.
Just a couple of small problems with it then. The clamp system is not correct, but easily sorted by turning the clamps over, and those infernally tight o'rings, again easily sorted out.
It also comes fully engraved with everything the authentic does, and I don't really like that. Would prefer it blank.
The build quality I have to say, is at least as good as the original a mate has and let me try out, and the air holes are actually better, as on some of the original Hadalays they don't line up properly (his didn't) but on mine they are perfect. Whistling can be a problem with the authentic as the machining of the air intakes is sometimes a little off, but nothing like that on this one.
So, do i like it.. absolutely YES.. Its a very well built solid Rda. Building on it is a breeze (as long as you tuns those clamps over) if you use it as a squonk atty, it works well, but the best thing is its flavour.. I always think that the Origen Little 16 I use is the best flavour Rda I have. This is just as good, a lovely thick vape, not too hot ( as long as you shove that coil down) and superb flavour.
Would I buy the original after trying this? Absolutely! Although having used one I can honestly say that this is about as good for around £11.00!! Its a steal, and if you are looking for an excellent Rda, particularly for squonking, this should be considered.
Have you got one of these? If so, what's your take on it?
