Lots of us here seem to like a decent MTL vape...and half of us are always looking for something better... Better draw...better taste...better quality...ease of use etc.. but how many here are still using good old genisis atomisers for a daily vape.
I don't think that there is much out there that can beat a well set up genny for a MTL vape, and yes, they can be a bit of a faff to build sometimes, but are also an atty that can last a year or more on the same mesh wick, so you don't have to rebuild them, change the cotton etc. every few days... Fit and forget...
So who here, is still using genisis attys as an everyday vape?, or have you tried them and cant get on with the mesh wicking system?

I think you nailed it on the last sentence for me taff I just cant seem to get them to "click" as well on the set up side compared to a RTA with cotton or silica.

They do certainly take more time and effort than a normal cotton build mate. I agree ... and they did take me quite a while and a whole lot of wasted time and effort, not to mention mesh and wire etc. before i thought i had it nailed .. but the flavour from a cotton wick doesn't compare to a good mesh wick ... especially for tobacco type juices and custards ... for me anyway. I reckon its worth it.

I know taff but I can be lazy TBH it must be 4 years since I bought mesh and I still have a chunk left of the sheet. I've got the Kracken I got of todd and that gets a whirl every now and then but I use cotton when I do I know I should but as said I can be lazy. You have a tutorial thread somewhere here on them dont you?

I still use three on a daily basis and they are quite easy to get up and going and never have any of those dreaded hotspot's appearing. A couple of them I mainly use for my tobacco eliquid's and the other for a fruit eliquid as it does bring out the flavour a lot more. I also still have quite a few stored away which come out occasionally. And I totally agree that for anyone just starting on them that they can be a challenge to set up and I do believe there is a knack to get them working right without any hotspot's. But I am glad I was lucky enough to start vaping years ago when mesh was king and to get a decent vape you had to persevere to get yourself a decent vape. As for the kracken feeson when I had mine the only way I could get mine going correctly was by building a mesh u-wick, using any other wick and I would either get hotspot's or it never wicked enough for me.

The kracken can be a bit of a pain to get wicking properly mate, but in mine i use an SS Rope wick with some 200sf mesh as a topper under the coil, as rope wicks really well, and the 200 mesh can hold the juice, so no dry hits at all...

I only use gennys, and always have...with mesh...I never had much use for cotton, and though I've tried to like it I never will,I gave up trying to convince myself that I ever would and threw out all my cotton years ago.along with raime, hemp, and assorted other limp wick garbage...I have to say though I never had a build in a genny for a year..I rebuild them all about every 2-3 weeks, a month at the latest....for what it's worth the Kraken is pure sh*te. IMHO...I don't get hotspots...haven't in years...once you master building with mesh,it's not the horrific nightmare alot of people think it is...and I recently had this discussion with someone else who said his organic cotton delivered as good a flavor as mesh...bullcrap...anyone who says that has never learned how to build with mesh right.I have vaped plenty of Organic Japanese cotton on clapton coils and I ain't impressed...cotton is easy, cotton wicks like a sponge, but cotton mutes flavor...I can vape up to 30 watts on mesh no problem, and that is as high as I will ever vape, I don't need a sponge.for anybody really into gennys there's been some great innovations recently..if you really like gennys..go on facebook and check out Genisis Symphony, their new meshes and woven flat wires are excellent. The Russians seem to be alot more into gennys than other folks.

Have been looking at those mate, for my nextgen and in'ax mkIIR's... What version of their wick and wire do you suggest for these.. As they seem to have a few variations of both wick and wire?

Have been looking at those mate, for my nextgen and in'ax mkIIR's... What version of their wick and wire do you suggest for these.. As they seem to have a few variations of both wick and wire? They sell what they call their MTL packs....and then they sell what they call their DL packs, and then they sell alot of different gauges of wire....I ordered one of each of the packs...each pack has two or three different gauges of wire...there are three kinds of mesh and it seems 90% of people there use just two of them wrapped together to make their wicks..on their facebook page is a folder that shows each wire and the recommended wattage use for each variety..I've been using their stuff for over two months now and I haven't really put a dent in using up either of the packs I bought...this stuff delivers the flavor longer than conventional wire.I wanted to give them a thourough vetting before I wrote up a recommendation of them....there are all kinds of vapers on their page from very experinced genheads to people who are genny noobs, so you have to take what people say with a grain of salt and learn who is experinced and listen to them, and between noobs who are just fanboys gushing over the latest new trend. But I will say they are very very definetly worth giving a go. the wire is very differnt than conventional wire it is very flexible and will not hold it's shape well.so building with it in some ways is 180 degrees different than building with standard wire.for what it is worth I found the flat wires to be much better than the round wires...There is also a company called I think "Dragons breath" that sell similar types of wire.also russian.
