Been reading up on inowire... hollow stainless steel wire, that they reckon gives you far faster ramp up, and cool down, non-springy, and even reckon it saves you battery life as it heats up so quickly.. Actually looks quite good to me after reading a bit about it on-line...so may grab a spool of this and give it a shot..quite expensive though at around the £7-8 mark for 5 mtrs of it.

I have heard this mentioned else where taff but I haven't really looked into it as I'm quite happy with the wires I'm using at present, but I eagerly await you feedback on it if you do decide to purchase some.

taff,,, being "me" (which is Ultra cynical and infuriatingly logical and litteral) its a "oooh for vapours" product,, and naturally gets a very critically sceptical eye cast over it,
a few bits "er? " "oh,, right ??Really??" first off "hollow wire",, have you ever tried bending copper pipes (or any pipe really) around a small radii ? , for plumbin use , a "spring insert" is needed to stop the pipe becoming blocked/crimped/pinched or "not a pipe" ot taking a "right turn clyde" type bend and collapsing the structure (not good in plumbing where water flow is needed,, or brake lines ,, or metal conduit pipes wot need electrical cables going down the ole,, really not good on plastic plumbing waste pipes) ,, while the hole isnt needed to let water/other flow,, the deformation of the wire from "round" to having corners /angles on/in its radii = hello hot spot @ the kink/bend etc the point of it being hollow is then,, negated by its crushed flat (so to speak) at the bend/crunch/pinch point
yes it Will give you a faster ramp up/cool down time as there is far less "mass of metal" to heat/cool ,,but Exactly the same thing can be used by,, not using 0.5mm fence wire,, (most ego type clearo's were wound with 0.16mm/0.2mm wire and a 650mah ego bat lasted a decent time,,)
just to me smacks Very much of "new for the sake of a new thing to empty a wallet" esp as for the faster ramp up/cool down/better battery life,, a 1.6ohm coil wound with 0.2mm ,,0.25mm ,, V " new trendy fat fence post wire (wot needs 4332warts to heat up quicker than 3weeks),,,,

I agree with you to a point andyd but I always have the philosophy of don't knock unless you've tried it. On saying that this wire is supposed to have quicker ramp up time, but with the correct settings dialled in on a decent TC mod this would give you the ramp up time you require and any TC compatible wires wouldn't it?

I had similar thoughts Andy, but the reports form some folk are decent..but they might just be fanboys for anything new...thin gauge stainless should bend round a mandril ok though I would have thought.. seen some osme coils made with this, and they do look decent, but I guess only trying it out will really tell me.. no hurry for new wore anyway, still got lots of my old trusty 28 kanthan to use here..

Never use TC balders , as I normally use mechs with my squonkers, which I would try this on...may be ok on tc also, but I know next to nothing about using that..

Ive tried standard round SS wire in the past wasnt a huge fan. It vaped like hot magma at similar ohms in kanthal. I had to go from .4 A1 to .3 SS to get similar ohms/coil sizes for mtl. Being 'non springy' meant the coil got trashed every time you tried to change the wick. Back on A1 .4 for the mtl rigs.
I use .5 ni80 in my subohm squonk rigs. Fast ramp & cheap as chips

I'm the same as you taff I don't use TC myself and I'm quite content with the ramp up time I get from my mods, perhaps it's something I got quite used to from using mech mods when I first started vaping.

On saying that this wire is supposed to have quicker ramp up time, but with the correct settings dialled in on a decent TC mod this would give you the ramp up time you require and any TC compatible wires wouldn't it? ish , yes but no,, ish nearly it depends How you "use" temp limiting, if your (mis) using it as a " i want to vape at 280c so dial max watts and set temp to 280c" ,, then yes,, hurl enough watts at it and it will ramp up fast enough,, regardless of the thermal mass your dealing with, the "issues" your going to have may well result in "tc is crap its a crap vape" If your using temp Limiting as temp limiting,, ie Set the temp to Just below the temp Your wicking material starts to "lightly brown",OR set it to a temp where your Juice doesnt start to fracture so as to prevent the formation of "nasty sh*te we dont really want to inhale " and dial watts To taste for that juice in That tank with This wick and coil type ,, then "maybe/ish/no/possibly" end of it all a 0.35mm solid core wire has a thermal mass of X a .4mm solid core wire has a thermal mass of XX a 0.6mm hollow wire has a thermal mass of "nearly x" so you use a fatter wire,, then make it hollow so its thermal mass replicates that of a thinner solid core that ramps up/down faster ,,, "point being ,, just to use Fatter wire(thats hollow so it does the Same job as your solid core thinner wire),,, see where my "its a new thing for vapours to empty vapours wallet" comes from,, a "new this week wheel, wot works just like the wheel of 3months ago BUT am best cos its new and old stuff is ,, well its sh*te cos its old ".... (i did say i Am infuriatingly logical/cynical and analytical didnt i?)

Must admit that I have tried SS wire in the past, and found it too hot for me...guess I have been using kanthal for os long now, and am so used to doing my coils with it, that it’s now second nature to pick it up and use it...not sure yet if I will give it a try, but nothing ventured nothing gained eh?

(i did say i Am infuriatingly logical/cynical and analytical didnt i?) I'm sure that will all can agree on that point andyd . Thank goodness we've got you around to give us a laugh once in a while. But I think you maybe right is it just a new gimmick? But it still good to see that people are still trying to develop new ways in which we may be able to enhance our vaping experience.

i have to "ish but no but ish ,,maybe,," again there
if it was "new" oh hell yes
a wheel , in new colours (rainbow effect coming soon @ FT!) or new fancy spokes , or a solid ,, or a solid with fancy holes cut in,, but still a wheel,, and omg its got a slick tyre,, a winter tyre a summer tyre or a "all season tyre" ,, is still a 15inch steel rimmed wheel,, variations are just that "for the looks of the thing" , not "new way to,or improvement/enhancement " (other than visually and aesthetically depending on pov, or in the case of "summer/winter tyres gullibility)
this,, smacks of exactly that , "its new" ,, as said it does nothing "new" other than allow the use of fatter wire ,, with the same thermal mass/efficiency of a thinner existing (and cheaper) wire,,
But as the cross sectional area of the "hollow" wire is not the same as a solid single core wire, its Resistance will not be the same,, 0.4mm solid wire ,, for arguments sake is "X ohms per foot" 0.4mm hollow wire ,, with,, arguments sake a 0.1mm hole up the middle has " 3/4 of X ohms per foot"
(there representations of the figures it isnt a linear relationship between diameter and resistance per foot, but its close enough for the point,, )
so the "reason" for fatter wire,, "to make a coil that suits the space(deck) in the atomizer while keeping the resistance in the users acceptable range, not Too high/too low" now doesnt apply to "hollow wire" as,, your using "fence post thick" wire to fit the space,, But it has a greater resistance per foot,as it is hollow, so your coil that "fits" the atomiser is now a Much higher resistance than a solid core fatter wire ,,,,

Well contrary to your comments andyd I have been over at a French vaping forum and there has been some very favourable feedback on this wire. Also from what I can understand this wire originates from France. But as I haven't tried it myself I am still unsure whether this wire is any good or not.

It Is French wire, as far as I know..But I suppose the only way to be sure is to try it out...so I think I will see about ordering a small spool of it and see how it performs for the way I would use it...will of course let you folks know how I see it when I have got it, and used it for a while..

Also from what I can understand this wire originates from France. But as I haven't tried it myself I am still unsure whether this wire is any good or not. good / bad are subjective things tho why do Some folk prefer kanthal a1 wire in 0.28mm size from TVMC while others prefer the 0.28mm kanthal a1 sold by stealth vape,, "like/good/bad/not like" are all subjective and you can not compare a subjective to a factual, favourable feedback wotever,, doesnt change that you are using a fat wire, with the thermal characteristics of a Thiner wire ,, and the resistivity properties of a thinner wire,, At a greatly increased price point to the thinner wire,, you get,, Both the benifits And the drawbacks of using a thinner wire,, at the increased cost,, at which point,, new for the sake of emptying wallets" applies Far more than "a new step, a new option or way to do a thing" also doesnt hit the "improved option of" as the cost is Way higher than what is already on the market doing the exact same job with the same thermal and resistive properties... facts , not subjective,, 23230000 lemmings leaping off a cliff doesnt make it right / wrong/ good / bad , Or change the fact that 23230000 lemmings are now dead,, ditto "lots like it", cool beans happy for them,, IF they are prepared to pay £££ over what is already there to do the exact same job and believe the marketing,, doesnt alter the facts , as "like it" = subjective,, (gutted as i cant think up a vape thing , hype it enough and gouge the hell out of wallets for remaking the wheel , with winter tyres on in a rainbow finish bestest chlome plated blass manner ,,, )

I like the idea of it having less spring in it.but that is a steep price just to get rid of a little spring.

I like the idea of it having less spring in it.but that is a steep price just to get rid of a little spring. The main benefits of this wire form what I have been reading is the extra battery life experienced, due to this wire having a quicker ramp up time you are then having to use at lower voltages or lower TC settings. The flavour they have got from their juices are no different to Kanthal or SS wire, but having a better battery life to me is a very good benefit. Yes it is at the moment more expensive than other wires but if this does take off then demand will naturally bring the price down due to other manufactures producing this wire. But it is still very early days and we will have to wait and see how things develop.

Over on AAEC a .5 SS hollow coil spool was passed on to me by a kind FM. I used it once for a coil in my LV Zeus but did not no find any significant benefit to justify carrying on with it. It did seem to boil juice more quickly than the equivalent solid SS. But apart from that no advantage. Perhaps if I had persevered I might have found a benefit but as I am very happy with using cheap 316L I passed it on to another member.

We are still awaiting on taff to give us feedback on this wire richard46 but thanks for your feedback on this wire. And it's no real surprise really that you've gone back to your old wire, as they keep on giving us new types of wire to use and every time we go back to our basic wires which gives us the vape that we are happy with. But very generous of you to offer to pass this wire onto someone else to try, but I will leave that for someone else to try, as I'm happy with the SS and Kanthal wire I still use.

Balders Yes did not seem worth switching from my usual SS and I like to experiment but too many variables can be confusing. Slight misunderstanding I have already passed the Inowire I had on to another vaper. I suspect it will have visited most corners of the UK by now.

To be honest richard46 since this wire has been released I haven't heard much about it for a while, I know that over at some french forums some were raving about it, but if you can get a very satisfying vape from the wires you are already using I can see no point in trying out another so called wonder wire.
